As with everything we do, BRI goes the extra mile when it comes to compliance. We feel that exceeding the standards just makes good business sense and allows our customers the peace of mind knowing that the services they are getting are above anyone else.

There are a few areas in the handling of this material where we differ than your current company and we feel they are important for you to know.

When materials are manifested to BRI, BRI becomes the responsible party for that material. You no longer have to worry about cradle to grave, we do and we do it well. Once materials are processed you receive another copy of the manifest verifying its' treatment.

Arizona law requires processing for 30 minutes at 250 degrees. Our standard here at BRI is 45 minutes at 275 degrees.

Although not required, each load is impregnated with sterile indicators that ensure that this load was properly treated all the way through. Also not required but standard practice here at BRI, biological indicators are used quarterly and sent to an independent laboratory for testing.

All materials are processed within 24 hours of receipt at the plant.

As you read through the steps of this process we hope you will see that there is no safer or more secure place to have your documents destroyed. Documents are ground not shredded. Please see pics under services!

Materials are collected in a sealed numbered container. These containers cannot be opened without there being visible evidence. The container number is manifested and your emissary verifies that the container is sealed.

The transport vehicle is required to be locked at all times when not attended.

Upon receipt at the plant, the plant manager verifies that the container has not been tampered with and accepts the material. It is then transported to the shredding area and shredded in the presence of the plant manager. They then issue the final verification of destruction.

Although this industry is not regulated in Arizona, BRI chooses to follow CA title 22. Due to FDA regulations, BRI cannot claim the linen as sterile after processing, but we hope that you will find peace of mind and see the benefit to having your linens autoclaved and delivered in surgical barrier material instead of being wrapped in plastic that may or may not protect the linens.
